Why Happy Heifer?

Some of the happiest days of my life were spent preparing for and showing our Jersey heifers at the county fair every summer. I was in 4-H from age 6 until I aged out at 18. We spent every summer pouring over our projects for the fair and showing our calves was filled with blood, sweat, and tears, but more importantly, love, laughter, and joy.

It was not a solitary endeavor. It was a whole family effort to train, groom, and then transport the heifers to the fairgrounds every year where we then had to care for them the entire week of the fair. Grandpa even retro fitted his little Toyota with the side rails, special, just for transporting our precious cargo to the fairgrounds. Raspberry was the first heifer I ever showed. She took reserved champion in her class that year.

Jersey cows have always held my heart. They are joyful, mischievous, and beautiful. They make the world a happier place...when they aren't jumping the fence!

Where is my Art?

In storage. I do not currently have my work on display anywhere publically. And I don't ever aspire to museum status. There is a small display of my herbal studies paintings at my Northstar Natural Health office. Maybe someday I'll have an official studio, but right now I primarily paint at my dining room table.
